Caddo Culture Day

Celebrate Caddo history and contemporary culture!

Join us on November 15, 2025 at Caddo Mounds State Historic Site to learn about and witness Native culture (past and present). This family-friendly day of fun will feature artists, dancers, vendors, food, a silent auction – and so much more.

Friends of Caddo Mounds State Historic Site are sponsoring the D/FW Kabutcha Toli and the Alabama Coushatta Stickball Team to participate in a Stickball Game during Caddo Culture Day at Caddo Mounds State Historic Site in Alto, Texas.

Stickball is one of the most ancient games of the southeastern woodlands peoples, including the Caddo Nation. Historically, it served not only as a sport but as a means of resolving significant political disputes and strengthening community ties. Bringing this game back to our ancestral homelands on Caddo Culture Day is both a celebration and a homecoming, and we would be honored for your team to be part of this historic moment.

Admission: Free (but donations are welcome!)

Parking: Free

*Event etiquette

We’re delighted when guests are curious and excited to learn about our Native performers, partners and friends – but please remember these etiquette tips:

Never touch a Native American dancer’s regalia. Always ask permission before you take individual pictures. Respect the personal space of dancers as you should for anyone else. You’ll find that most dancers are friendly and will answer your questions about their regalia.
